Romantic Outdoor Stillwater Wedding • Chelsea + Todd

We are so excited to share the amazing day of Todd and Chelsea! These New Yorkers returned to the Midwest for an epic celebration of romance, joy, and non-stop positive vibes.

The morning started out rainy, and these two and their friends embraced the outdoors armed with a handful of umbrellas. Their ceremony was one of the sweetest we've ever seen, and we're pretty sure their vows left every single person under the tent a little dusty-eyed. Post-ceremony the clouds broke just in time for an unreal sunset to come out as the backdrop for their reception. Throughout the day guests were treated to a champagne bar, dancing before, during, and after dinner, lawn games, a photo booth, a cigar bar, AND a late night visit from the MN Nice Cream truck, to name just a handful of things.

The look of the day was modern, whimsical, and slightly-bohemian but still very polished and classic. Maven Events made the couple's vision come to life by pulling together an incredible team of vendors and adding their always-impeccable style to the day. Out of all of this amazingness, our favorite thing about this day was the thoughtfulness Chelsea and Todd put into creating an unforgettable celebration for their loved ones. Community was at the core of the day, and that was so clear in the energy and joy you could palpably feel.

Basically I could talk about this one all the livelong day, but here's a quick interview with the lovely bride Chelsea herself!

What was your overall vision for the wedding day? The 3 words that popped into my head as soon as we started planning were: playful, organic, and romantic. Thinking back on it, that's how I'd describe Todd & I's relationship! The day was exactly those things.

What did you want guests to remember most? We were so excited to bring all our family and friends together that all we really wanted was for everyone to walk away with sore cheeks from smiling and tired feet from dancing all night!

What is your favorite photo from the day? What part of the day stands out most? It's too hard to pick just one! But we both had 2 stand out moments: our first look and sunset photos. We went back and forth on if we wanted to do a first look and I'm so glad we did. So much anticipation had been building up throughout the morning that it was so calming to have that little moment together. We got to hug each other, sneak in a few kisses and just share in the giddiness before walking down the isle. And then the sunset came! We're so grateful that we took 10 minutes to sneak away from the celebrating to watch the sun set on our perfect day.

Any tips for couples planning right now, or tips for the day of the wedding? Our biggest piece of advice - once you book your venue, book Joe & Jen! But seriously, surround yourself with vendors you 110% trust to bring your vision to life. To fully enjoy your day you can't be worrying about everything going on behind the scenes, hire a team who can take that stress away for you. And don't stress the little details, focus on being in the moment because the morning raindrops might just turn into an epic sunset that night

We adore these two, and it was simply so much fun to tell the story of their love. Check out the full visual story below!
