Hometown Lebanese Wedding • Amanee + John

Although New Yorkers John and Amanee met way back in the day at church through their families, it took until later in life for them to reconnect, fall in love, and become the power couple they are today. For their wedding weekend they decided to return to her charming hometown of La Crosse, Wisconsin where they threw a two-day celebration of their union.

A beautiful groom’s dinner at The Court Above main included family and friends, tons of amazing food, and an incredibly surprise performance by Amanee to her groom John. The next day Amanee got ready with her ladies at her childhood home in the woods by the bluffs, followed by a traditional Syrian Orthodox wedding ceremony at the church where it all started. The Waterfront, a lovely restaurant in La Crosse right beside the Mississippi river, hosted their epic dance party complete with plenty of dabke - a traditional Lebanese folk dance involving a drum circle, singing, and blessing of the couple.

The energy was high and happy all weekend, thanks to the joy that is so obviously shared by John, Amanee, and their communities. We absolutely loved documenting every single moment by their sides, and we can’t wait to watch these two take on the world together.

PS. Check out their New York Times wedding announcement! So cool!
